The Base
Camp Kit

Home is Layer Zero — the cache and base camp every other layer depends on. Stage it well and you carry less everywhere else. This kit stocks the supplies your household consolidates at home, so the squirrel's hoard lives in one place instead of on your back.

What's in this kit

  • Group 1 Core supplies — water, food, first aid, light
  • Group 2 Utilities & safety — extinguisher, detectors, power
  • Sourced from Chapter 3 + Appendix H
  • Scope Hard goods only — planning items in Ch 16

You do not have to carry the whole hoard on your back from room to room all day. Stage the hoard across locations — and home is where it consolidates.

Chapter 3 · Start At Home

The base camp the system defends

Home is where you have the time and space to evaluate, consolidate, and stage everything else. This kit is the hard-goods half of that base camp — the bulk reserves your other kits draw down from. The people-and-planning half of Chapter 3 lives in the book and the Chapter 16 family-plan kit.

+ Also staged elsewherePer your layered system, some base-camp items deliberately overlap other kits. Cards carrying this flag mark an item type you'll also see elsewhere — here it's the full-size home reserve, not the travel-size version. Redundancy across layers is the point.
